Caption:  This chart shows the total catch at all stations for seining samples collected by Higgins (1995) in the Garcia River estuary in July 1995. Steelhead dominated the July sample in the Garcia River estuary from the Bend Hole (G1) to just Station G4 but salt had intruded into G5 as reflected by the bay pipefish in the collection. This is as a result of diminishing runoff in the Garcia, which allowed salt water intrusion further upstream. Species contractions are stklbk = stickleback, prkly scpn = prickly sculpin, stag scpn = staghorn sculpin, shinr prch = shiner perch, stary fldr = starry flounder, baypipefh = bay pipefish.
