Caption: This chart shows maximum daily temperatures in the Sheepscot River in Whitefield at river kilometer (RKm) 17.25 in 1994, 1995, 1996, and 2002. Summertime maximum and sometimes minimum temperatures (June throughout September) have exceed 22.5°C in all years. Elliott (1991) found that juvenile Atlantic Salmon stop feeding when temperatures exceed this level. Temperature data are from the Maine Atlantic Salmon Commission.
