Caption: This chart shows floating weekly maximum temperatures in the Sheepscot River approximately 1 miles upstream from Head Tide (river kilometer 11.55) for 1998 through 2000. Floating weekly maximum temperatures exceed 22.5°C for extended periods in all years between July and September. Elliott (1991) found that juvenile Atlantic Salmon stop feeding when temperatures exceed this level. Temperature data are from the Maine Atlantic Salmon Commission.
