WQ: Total Phosphorus MDEP Stormflow Study Summary 2000-2002 |
|
Caption: This chart shows the minimum, mean, and maximum total phosphorus levels measured during the Maine Department of Environmental Protection WQM Program's 2000-2002 stormflow study. Samples were taken during high flow events (after major rainfall events of 1.0 inch of rain or more, or during significant melt events). Mean phosphorus levels were generally below 0.05mg/L; however, the mainstem Sheepscot and the West Branch saw levels exceeding this concentration. Rivers with more than 0.05 mg/L total phosphorus are often negatively impacted (Arter, 2004). See Info Links for more information.
