Aquatic Inverts: EPT Index Sheepscot Vs. All Sites |
|
Caption: This chart shows the average score of the EPT index with standard error bars contrasting the Sheepscot River with an average of all other Maine rivers combined. The EPT index is a measurement of the number of species present of mayflies (Ephemeroptera), stoneflies (Plecoptera) and caddisflies (Trichoptera), which are pollution intolerant orders. Data suggest better aquatic health for the Sheepscot than in many other Maine rivers. Data from the Maine Department of Environmental Protection. See Info Links for access to their report.
