Topic | Habitat: Embeddedness of NF Gualala Reaches 2001 |
Click on image to enlarge (173K). The image above shows California Department of Fish and Game Habitat Typing results displayed as embeddedness of gravels at pool tail crests for the North Fork Gualala Basin. The predominance of gravels less than 25% embedded on the mainstem North Fork and the lower little North Fork would suggest suitable habitat for salmonids. Doty Creek and Robinson Creek, however, show embeddedness of 25-75% indicating impaired salmonid spawning habitat capability. Map image based on California Department of Fish and Game data and taken from the KRIS Gualala Map project.
