Click on image to enlarge (122K). The image above shows the maximum pool depth results of the CDFG 2001 Gualala habitat typing surveys. The pink color indicates pool depths of less than two feet, which is less than optimal for salmonids. Larger tributaries like the North Fork Gualala and the Wheatfield have deeper pools, however, the frequency of deep pools on the former seem more predominant above Dry Creek. Tombs Creek, lower Rockpile and the Little North Fork are dominated by pools less than two feet deep. Spatial data provided by the California Department of Fish and Game.
