Fish: Adult Steelhead & Coho Catch Gualala River 1972-73 by Month |
|
Caption: The chart above shows the estimated catch of adult steelhead and coho salmon in the Gualala River in the 1972-73 fishing season (November-February). The catch of coho was estimated at over 800 fish and is the last indication of a substantial coho population in the Gualala. CDFG was planting coho juveniles in the Gualala in years prior to this survey (Boydstun, 1975), therefore, adult populations may have been in part owing to supplementation. Catch was likely hampered in January and February by high flows. Data provided by California Department of Fish and Game (Boydstun, 1975).
