Habitat: Canopy by Type (All) |
|
Caption: This chart shows canopy coverage for all Gualala River tributaries surveyed in 2001 by the California Department of Fish and Game. While shade is relatively high for many reaches, much of the observed canopy is comprised of deciduous trees instead of conifers. The measurement is taken from the center of the stream with a densiometer after methods described in the California Salmonid Restoration Manual. Survey lengths vary; therefore, please consult Topic Habitat: All Gualala Reach Lengths. See Info Links for more information.
