Habitat: Habitat Categories by Length Lower SF 2002 |
|
Caption: This chart shows the results of a 2002 lower South Fork Garcia River habitat typing survey with percent occurrence by length of pools, riffles and flatwater (runs and glides). The South Fork had a low pool ratio with 29% occurrence by length. Flatwater habitats were 71% of habitats while riffles were only 12%. The low riffle occurrence is related to the low gradient of the stream. Data collected by Elizabeth Earthman and Jennifer Presnell of the Americorp Stewards program under the direction of the California Department of Fish and Game.
