Habitat: Habitat Categories by Length Little SF 2002 |
|
Caption: This chart shows the results of a 2002 Little South Fork Garcia River habitat typing survey with percent occurrence by length of pools, riffles and flatwater (runs and glides). The Little South Fork had just 16% pools by length and 31% of habitats were dry, which is a sign of aggradation. Flatwater habitats were 51% of habitats by length and riffles were only 2%. The low riffle occurrence is likely linked to the low gradient of the stream. Data collected by Elizabeth Earthman and Jennifer Presnell of the Americorp Stewards program under the direction of the California Department of Fish and Game.
