Caption: The above chart plots floating weekly average temperature at lower South Fork sites for the years 1997, 1999, 2001. Floating weekly average temperatures did not exceed 16.8° Celsius during the years of record; therefore this site would be suitable with regard to temperature for supporting coho salmon. Welsh et al. (2001) found that coho are not likely to persist where maximum floating weekly average temperature (MWAT) exceeds 16.8°C. See InfoLinks for more information.
