Caption: The above chart plots floating weekly average temperature at lower South Fork sites for the years 1994-1997 and 1999-2001. Floating weekly average temperatures did not exceed 16.8° Celsius during the years of record. Welsh et al. (2001) found that coho are not likely to persist where maximum floating weekly average temperature (MWAT) exceeds 16.8°C. The South Fork has appropriate water temperatures to support coho salmon.
