Caption: The chart above shows the results of a 1991 North Fork Garcia habitat typing survey with the frequency of pool depths. Pools deeper than three feet are preferred habitat for coho juveniles and older age steelhead. While there were 29 pools deeper than three feet, the 2-3 foot deep category had the most pools and 15 were two feet deep or less. Data were collected for the Garcia River Watershed Enhancement Plan (Mendocino County RCD, 1992). See InfoLinks for more information.
