Caption:  The chart above shows the results of a 1991 North Fork Garcia habitat typing survey with relative lengths of pools, riffles and runs (flatwater). Pool frequency falls within the healthy range for the North Fork with over 45% by length. Flatwater habitats were just over 30% of North Fork and riffles 23%. The lowest reach of the North Fork was dry but the field personnel just started the survey where surface flow began. Data were collected for the Garcia River Watershed Enhancement Plan (Mendocino County RCD, 1992). See InfoLinks for more information.
