Fish: Juvenile Steelhead Length Middle Garcia 1987 |
|
Caption: This chart shows the length of the juvenile steelhead caught electrofishing in August 1987 in the mainstem Garcia River just upstream of Signal Creek. Fish ranged in length from 50-110, with only one yearling steelhead present (light blue). Yearling and older steelhead are generally those over 100 mm (4 inches) with two year old fish usually over 150 mm (6 inches). Size classes are shown in different colors: young of the year are blue, yearlings light blue. This reach has far fewer older age steelhead than lower mainstem Garcia River reaches. Data transcribed from field notes of Thomas Daugherty, Louisiana Pacific fisheries biologist. See InfoLinks for more information.
