Sediment: 1999 Percent Fines <5.6 mm - Garcia Tribs, McBain&Trush |
|
Caption: This chart shows McNeil dry-sieve sample results as mean percent fines <5.6 mm from samples sites of ten Garcia River tributaries in 1999. Whiskers show one standard error about the mean. The Garcia EPA TMDL set a target of 30% for fines <6.5 mm based on wet sieve analysis. The KRIS IFR staff has used conversion from Shirazi and Seim (1979) to adjust this target for dry sieve methods to 26%. Average values in all tributaries, excluding the South Fork Garcia, exceed the adjusted reference of 26% for fines <6.5 mm. Data are from McBain and Trush (2000). See InfoLinks for more information.
